Oops.

Where have I gone wrong? 1930 death is correct.

We had better start from something known. Age 87 in 1930 and maiden name Lee and father = Morris and from London.
And her father is alive and in Melbourne in 1864 when she married - Jeanette/ Jane/Jean in various records.

I can see one big mistake. ... third daughter but can't have marriage 1842 and birth 1843 and be the third.

1851 No records found for Name: morris lee, Event: Residence, Place: london, Country: England

Can't find a baptism.

Looks like Jane may have been born in the workhouse along with 2 other siblings...

LEE, JANE mmn DUKE
GRO Reference: 1843 D Quarter in THE CITY OF LONDON UNION Volume 02

LEE, JOSEPH MORRIS mmn DUKE
GRO Reference: 1845 M Quarter in THE CITY OF LONDON UNION Volume 02

LEE, SARAH mmn DUKE
GRO Reference: 1846 J Quarter in CITY OF LONDON UNION Volume 02

These could be 2 other children of theirs...

LEE, MIRIAM mmn DUKE
GRO Reference: 1848 M Quarter in WEST LONDON Volume 02 Page 265

LEE, LUCRECIA mmn DUKE
GRO Reference: 1849 J Quarter in WEST LONDON Volume 02 Page 267

None of them appear in the 1851 census

Thanks Keith.

It could be that I made an error with the first post and that may not be the right family.

Info known to be correct in post #8.

Dave

EDIT: Info in post #1 was correct after all.

There is a problem reading the census images for several Lee families in London in 1841. Transcriptions on FS have 'null' repeated.

Thanks gibbo.

Could help a bit later on.

So we have a Morris married to a Laura Levy/Levi with deaths for some children in Vic. But no birth for a Jeanette.

So we have 2x Morris Lee in Melbourne ??

No birth on GRO for a Jeanette or Jean 1837 - 1853. Births for 14x Jane with 14x mmn
