Hello Anthony,

welcome to our forum.

Do you have any BMD certificates at all, or have found any of the family in any census?

when did they move to Newcastle area? do you know what his occupation was?

To begin with I would get his death cert, and then his marriage cert.

The death cert will hopefully give you a base to start at, it will give you the informant's name and the address from where he died.

likewise the marriage cert will give you fathers name/occupation of both bride and groom also any witness' names. (if it was a marriage in england or wales that is) If it was an Irish marriage certificate, then it possibly will tell you a little more,

I am going to move this thread to the Genealogy Beginner section, so it doesnt get lost.

:)
