Hello there, 5-01-2008
When I retired in 1998, from engineering (quality control) I recieved a letter from a cousin, requesting ,for any knowlege that I may have
about the "Henderson" family, the nee - name, of both our mothers.
As all our elders, had past on, I could only re-call, my mother telling me, that my G/father, Edward Henderson, had managed a pub in 1910-1914 "The Barge Inn". by the river "Tyne" at Oakelgate, Gateshead, Co. Durham.
A visit to the city library in Newcastle, produced a photograph of
this same pub! I was amazed!
Over the past ten years, my research has included, frustration and dissapointments. How ever, the enthusiasm and friendship of fellow geanologists, and not forgetting the patients and help, given by the staff of
librarys, archives & record offices, I visited, has made it all worthwhile!
Ten years on, I can recall my wonderful journey, into the lives of the many familys, who have contributed to my "family History."
In conclusion! I am having the joy & satisfaction, of presenting
other family members, with a copy of "FAMILY HISTORY 1660-2008"
Did I say conclusion,? never !
My wife's two nephews, recently made contact, IE. Dear, Uncle Tommy, our late fathers name was, "HARRISON" ! We were wondering if !!!!!
I look forward to using your site,
best wishes to you & fellow members
