Even though I have my parents original marriage cert, I cannot find it in the free BMD. Why is this.
I'm not bothered, but it does seem strange.

Could somebody look.

Frederick Arthur Ives + Edith Burgess. 12th June 1938. Buckinghamshire.

Hi Steve
I had a look and couldnt find it neither. There are very few marriages etc for the 1930's on there at the moment as they havent all be transcribed as yet.
My father was born in 1937 and his birth isnt on there yet neither.

Are you sure of the date? I cannot see their marriage on the complete index for a/m/j or j/a/s 1938

EDIT found it in 1937 a/m/j !!! Aylesbury 3a 3160
Thanks LL,

No wonder I couldn't find it, I put the wrong year in.
I have the cert right in front of me but I pressed the 8 instead of the 7 on the keyboard.

I still can't find it though. I think more reading glasses are needed.:D

As a transcriber for free BMD, its possible that the entries for your parents marriage has not been fully transcribed yet. Did you look up the coverage rates for that period?

Hi WW,
No I haven't, I would not know where to look. I am quite new to family research (about 9 months) so I still have a vast amount to learn.
