I love Harpsichord music..if i close my eyes when listening to it i go back in time...for many years it was the mainstay of our music....imagine your life without music, thats how it used to be...many people never heard music in rhere whole lifetime...when composers put on grand open air shows commom people would go aong as well as the rich...many of them fainted or went into shock with the actual noise the orchestra would make...jesters were very popular..and rich because there sweet music was like nothing people had heard before...often the first music people heard was the church organ when they were built into our churches...so put the sound up on Mr Bach, close your eyes and imagine what it must have sounded like to those people who was hearing it for the first time live in an open theatre.

I couldn't agree more Leefer, music to me makes the world go around.
To quote the poet himself , Bill Shakespeare, "If music be the food of love, then play on."

I like all music that is pleasing to my earholes. From street buskers to mozart, from classical to rock, from Indy to motown.

And as you say, the harpsichord is so exciting and also mellow.

But music..................aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh love it.:kissu: :kissu:

Hi all

I quite agree, music has the ability to cheer us or reduce us to tears, there is music for our every occasion.

I have found that it can soothe a fractious dog whilst being groomed, or a child to sleep.

Hello

I am not a big music lover but if i do listen to some i prefer the softer quieter sort. I was singing along in the car one day and my daughter told me i should be on the radio. I knew there was no way in this life i could sing a tune at all but thought it was a nice thing for her to say until she said that if i was on a radio she could then switch it off. Cheeky little devil, we have a weird sense of humor. We were 4 hours from home so her punishment, 4 hour drive with my music and me singing all the way!!

Hi Lee,

Anything music has got to be better than that Metallica stuff my son used to play. It probably wouldnt have sounded so bad but he would have it cranked up that loud the windows would shake. We solved that problem tho. As i said we have a weird sense of humor. We come home one day and he had it up that loud that he didnt hear us pull into the drive way but we could certainly hear the music. What could a parent? We went around to the power box and turn the power off. It was funny listening to him running around inside trying to work out what happened. And these poor children of ours still love us??

Hi

I find that music makes me even more awed at certain good things and interests. When I listen to a good song it makes me even more intrigued and amazed at an ancestor for example.
