She's a different Elizabeth. As her husband is a miner in Americia thought likewise that Edward may have done the same.

There is also a Edwa..... Nancarrow on the New York passenger list. He could be a completley different person but it may be worthwhile looking into it.

Oh, ok.

I found the record:

Piece: RG9/1579 Place: Redruth -Cornwall Enumeration District: 2
Civil Parish: Redruth Ecclesiastical Parish: -
Folio: 26 Page: 10 Schedule: 53
Address: Falmouth Road

Was wondering how 38 became 43 and 9 became 23.

At first I thought you had found Elizabeth nee unknown 1st Stephens then 2nd Nancarrow in 1861.

Ah. Searching for that Elizabeth b. abt 1813 gets to that record only.

Hi Dave,

Have across another Edward Nancarrow. He married a Catherine Chambers in Merthyr Tydfil in 1858. By 1871 Catherine is a widow. As I cant find anytrhing on this Edward to verfy his age. Catherine year of birth varies, 1823, 1817. She is on the 1861 census under Chambers with her father ---- Jones. Also son Edward Nancarrow is a Chambers?

Hello Julie,

There is a problem, or two. ;)

Jane MATTHEWS, spouse of John remarried twice in Victoria, and died 18 Feb 1878.

No birth reg found for their first child born in SA around 1848 but a definite birth reg for 2nd one, Book 3, page 74:

NANCARROW Sophy 6 Jun 1550 Reedy Creek - District Ade [= Adelaide] - John NANCARROW & Jane MATTHEWS b. 3 p.74

Thanks Julie.

Age fits very well with baptism date 21 Apr 1799 Redruth.

John died 3 May 1855 and his death certificate lists only one surviving child, a Mary Jane aged 6, no birth reg found but looks like the first born in SA or on board vessel or in England before they left.

Family moved to Victoria between 1853 and 1855 - birth reg in SA then one in Victoria.

There is more than one NANCARROW family in Victoria.

Edward is probably the one who married Johanna as the daughter Elizabeths place of birth is Gunnislake.
So Edward senior, aged 61, died in 1859, the same year as his 2nd spouse Elizabeth STEPHENS so Gunnislake connection means Edward junior married Johanna.

Have I got that right?

Hi Dave,

I think I've got the Edwards mixed up. If it is Edward jnr or even Edward son of Grace who married Johanna then it wouldnt be him as the age is wrong DOH. The death index gives Liskeard as the registraton district so would this cover Gunnislake? or is there another Edward Nancarrow?

Calstock, Devon and Cornwall.

The parish of Calstock has moved several times in civil registration terms. It was originally in the Liskeard Registration District, (from 1st July 1837 until 12th October 1860)

I was thinking father was living with married son.
