During my visit to London on Saturday, I went in the above, (it's next door to the home of the Chelsea Pensioners) just to see what they have and if they could answer a couple of questions I have.
Firstly, the only way to get answers maybe is to go through their web site:-
www.national-army-museum.ac.uk
I have been given a sheet to fill in with my queries which will then be answered - at some point. Saturday is not the best day to get information from the reception staff.
Secondly, over four levels, they have:-
The Making of Britain 1066 - 1783
Money & Might 1784 - 1820's
Changing the World 1784 - 1904
Boer War Display 1899 - 1914
The World's Army - Empire, Commonwealth and Dominion Soldiers 1914 - 1945
World Wars 1905 - 1947
Korea 1950 - 1953: The cold War's Hot War
Conflicts of Interest 1969 - present.
In my requests, I shall ask what information they hold regarding different units during the various wars but if you are near Victoria Station, then it is a good 15 minute walk or there is a bus (can't remember the number) that goes there.
Trust this helps anyone.
Brian
