New member: Introduction

Hi
I have just joined this forum. My family interests are Teasdales in Yorkshire and Lancashire [1700-1950s], Knowles in Cheshire, [de] Prestwich in Lancashire, Ogden & Whalley in Lancashire. Then there are Stanner/Stenner in somerset along with Chivers, Horler, Derrick, Cox, Saunders, Towells and Coggins.
I used to be a teacher but quit over 10 years ago. I live in Bristol and have been looking into our family history for over 10 years now, when not involved in various forms of children's work.
Hopefully I can help and be helped through this forum.

Hi I have been investigating the Teasdales of Tickhill, Pennistone and Sheffield. Don't know any Lancashire links although IGI has my branch wrongly attached to a Manchester/Cheshire branch of Teasdales. Which part of Yorkshire are your Teasdales from?

You have may well have helped me previously with my Teasdales on a different site. The Moses who married Margaret Handby had a son called George who married Mary Wainman. I'm descended from him.

I remember now. Hi cousin. Haven't managed to get back a lot further back than Howbrook, Wortley yet. Have a pencilled in Moses Teasdale father of Moses of Howbrook born Rothwell Yorks. 1657 but haven't confirmed this. I have been looking at old documents round that area but haven't found any Teasdales in early papers. Moses of Howbrooks father seemed to farm in either Barnby Dunn or Barmby Moor (was the only thing I found on a sales invoice for and not easy to read especially as it was about the size of a till receipt
