Hi,
We've just started with our family trees. We have joined My Heritage. Although there are lots of records for my English family there are none at all for my wife's Scottish family.

What is the best online service to research Scottish genealogy? I've tried ScottishPeople but it makes you pay to view each search result.
Thanks in advance.

Scotlandspeople is best.If you know of a married couple then look for the marriage first as it will give you what part of Scotland they are in .If 2 comes up the same then the Banns will have been read in 2 churches likely in different towns. FamilySearch could be of use and is free.

Findmypast has more Scottish records. To look at the original you would still need to go to Scotlandspeople but it saves money if you are not picking the wrong ones. And as Ellie says the indexes on Scotlandspeople are free and easy to work.
