welcome Hello. Im a bit new here. Last year I stumbled upon a post in this forum from Julisejtp a forum monitor. Julie had mentioned my father. I replied but never heard anything although I didnt ask for anything at the time. My interest is finding out about my Scotish relations. Ideally I woiuld like to find my Grandfatheres history. My fathers name is Charles Binnie Peters Robertson. Born 1903 , came to the USA on the Caledonia in 1926 and passed away in Aug. 1971. Im not sure how the names are given in Scotland, is it possible his name was Binnie . I know I am named after my uncle David . I am David Peters Robertson . I do know my grandfather passed away while in the army 1915-1918 is my guess. I believe he was in the horse cavalry at the time . Im not even sure if I am in the correct forium so if someone could give me apoint in the right direction to start it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks from across the pond.O0

Ellie and Steve. cant thank you enough for this information. My dad always told me I was named after his older brother David, who must have been named after his father my grandfather David. Somehow I had forgotten that part. I only met my grandmother once when she came for a visit when I was 6 but I did talk to my aunts and uncles on the phone from time to time. Then when my dad passed mom kept in touch but that slowly faded and when she passed I never tried find them again. One of the biggest regrets I have. Now with this information perhaps I can find my cousins . I know the family was from Aloa. My dad did go back in 1964 for a month . It must have been hard being able to see your family only once in 5o years. Times do change. Thank you both again for this help and so fast
I had googled my dads full name and d.o.b. and one of the links in the responses was a forum Julie JT who had written for someone else she had found a Charles Binnie Peters Robertson with the d.o.b . Now what were the odds I would literally stumple on this . When you think of the odds to win the lottery they gotta be pretty close to this happening. Im buying tickets today. Thank You and all the best to you. David :D

Possible. My dad told me once when I was little that my grandfather was in the army, and was killed of all things by a horse that kicked him. My grandmothers name was Mary I know that and only met her once in 1955.
Everything else looks right on this though . Thanks for the time and trouble of looking it up. O0
