Thank you Jo and Dave for your very warm welcome.

I have been away, and am sorry for being so long in replying.

Do you please have any idea how I can find the parents of one of my brick wall men?

His name ...Joseph Plant born 1812 Cape of Good Hope(british subject)
He was in the Royal Artillery 1828/57 I have his army papers,so know this is correct.
He married a Maria ????? I cant find his marriage either, first child Amelia born 1839 in Watermans Field, Charlton Next Woolwich, Kent.

I would be very grateful for any ideas you may have in finding his parents or marriage,

Regards
Amyn

Hi Amyn,welcome
I am new to this site and have been made most welcome. So I offer the same.
I to have found so many mistransciptions, so now I try and study and analize the writing. Soon falls into place. Most of my family are in and around Bucks, so have first hand knowledge of the area, and that is a great help to me.:)
