i was wondering if anyone that may have lived around the Nine Elms area of London, would remember a paint factory (see name of thread!)

apparently this is where my parents met in abt 1948 (romantic huh?)

i was also wondering if anyone would know wot an outfall worker was......on my parents marriage cert it has my grandfather's occupation at the time as 'labourer for L.C.C (london county council) outfall worker)........i know my grandad has his own steeple jacking business for many years.....but dont know wot year he would have sold it......i know my dad helped my grandad from time to time with the steeple jacking business.......as my parents are both deceased now i dont really have nayone to ask.....except for my sister and she doesnt really know much more than i have written here so im a bit stuck.........

Hi Athenalou,

I think that is connected to sewerage works. :D

A bit of a read, but I think you'll get the picture.

Hi

I know this is an old post but having just joined I was intrigued by your enquiry.

I maintain a one-name study of the Farmiloe name. There was a Farmiloe paint factory at Nine Elms and I remember visiting it in the 1950s as a very small boy. I do have some pictures. Let me know if you are still interested.
