Stuck on ice in the high street for two hours on Friday.
In hindsight i should not have attempted delivery...North Tawton is just north of Okehampton....well gritted roads...except the road in and out of the village.
Did the delivery and was on my way when the back end slid and i managed to stop with the lorry six inches away from a a telegraph pole.
The local farmer/builder Mr Simmonds?.helped out with grit along with around a dozen other folk who helped me with gritting and advice.
Heart in mouth...and spare pants to the ready the grit/salt behind my wheels gave me the freedom i craved.....tracking out of the town i couldnt/wouldnt stop so may i thank all you good people in this delightfull little place.
