Interesting that there is no "VR" above the entrance.

It's built in the shape of a 'Y' with double-storey cell clocks on two arms.

The stairs and walkways were ripped out and sold for scrap.

The Clarence is a very large river, averages 500m wide and is tidal for 40 km up to Grafton.

Sugar cane is grown in the area and there is a refinery on the banks of the river just downstream of the Harwood Bridge on the Pacific Highway from Sydney to Brisbane.

The bridge over the Clarence River at Grafton is supposedly one of only two in the world - double deck with rail line on the bottom.

Grafton is famous for the Jacaranda Festival it holds every October. Lots of them around Sydney also. It's not an Australian native.

The town of MacLean has painted tartans on the bottom of the power poles. Here is the Hamilton one. :biggrin:
