Hi,

I'm not actually a beginner - I've been digging away at the family for years now and this is the cause of my problem. My files, and I have many of them, are full of all sorts of stuff gathered over the years and are positively obese. I need to thin them out a bit otherwise I'm going to run out of shelf space to keep them on.

What I'd like to know is what do you have in your files, what sort of info do you keep and what don't you bother with. For example when I first started out I made copies of the Baptisms of all the children, marriages etc from the IGI - would I be better with just a Family Group Shhet with Source citations. Likewise what should I do with all the copies of the Census images - keep them or just make a list of the addresses.

I really do need to thin out the paperwork but don't know where to start so any suggestions will be welcome.
