Looking At My G/Fathers Marrage Certificate His Father Occupation Is Master Mariner,Dose This Mean He Was In The Navy ???

It is very likely that he was in the Merchant Navy. His records should be at the National Archives in Kew.

My ancestor was a Master Seaman after years as a waterman.

If he was in the Royal Navy, he'd probably be on a war ship or at Portsmouth but someone who worked on a freight ship was in the Merchant Navy. I know a friend who was in the Merchant for about 8 years on freight ships.
