Whilst back in England, I had a good look around the church graveyard looking at all the gravestones, trying to glean extra bits of info from the inscriptions to fill in some blanks in my tree.
As most of my rellies were not wealthy, not many had headstones or markers.

I recognised so many of the names that were not related to me, from all the census searches that I've been doing these last few months.

There were certain sections of the graveyard that had family plots (wealthy rellies), an absolute gift if they were your ancestors.
I felt as though I knew them, as I had seen their names so often.

They felt like old friends.
