Oldest ancestor in a village at a time (or one of them)
Hi
My great, great, great grandfather William Wilson was aged 82 in 1901 living in the village of Eldon in Durham. By then he had been retired for about 15 years. He was an ex miner. He was one of the two oldest residents of that village. A John Anderson was also the same age as William.
William died on the 27th April 1902 at 24 Halls Row, Eldon. I would have thought at 83, he would have been quite well respected in the small village due to being over 80 when he died wouldn't you agree?
