Death reg has Olga's father as James and born abt 1891 and not Finland.

Thomas born abt 1881 - parents and place unknown

Interested in 1891, 1901 and 1911 and anything else up to 1925 on these two. Details after 1925 are much clearer.

No success with this.

I tried to get at them via the Grace Irene Hastie age 11 who emigrated with Olga in 1927. Either she is Thomas's daughter from a previous marriage or Grace's daughter who has changed her name to Hastie. Either way I can't identify her birth with any confidence. Do you know any more about her in Australia and do you think she is the daughter of Thomas OR Olga or are they both her parents and they just took a long time to get married?

The Thomas in post #2 looked good especially as he had a sister called Irene but several trees on Ancestry say that Thomas married Gertrude Fox in 1916 and died in Doncaster in 1938 with his wife still alive so he doesn't seem to be the correct one.

I was not sure if that was 6 years and 2 months or 6/12 = 6 months.

Anyway it does not agree with age at death that puts birth around 1891.

It's off a main line so no great influence on my tree.

Looks like Grace Barwick was just adopted when her mother died, she doesn't seem to have been related to Thomas Hastie or Olga Williams.

Grace I Barwick, b 1916.
Father Samuel Barwick b 1876, mother Mary Elizabeth Woodhead b 1878. Married 1898. Several children (and Samuel had a sister Grace)
Mary Elizabeth Barwick died 1918, Samuel died 1950.

I have looked at some of the relatives of this family but can't find any connection to Olga Williams/Hastie.

Looks like an adoption.

Thomas and Olga will remain mysteries a bit longer.

Arrival in Hull and the marriage in Hull but age at death is way out if it's the Olga born Finland.
