Hi :)
Mary is listed as Orchard (before marriage) presume her Mum was an Orchard when she married John Savin??
Can't find marriage.
Emma's baptism is in IGI 1846 Langley Burrell Wilts.
father Jonathan, mother Sarah sorry no maiden name.

Just for your info there are a lot of Savin's in IGI in Langley Burrell.

Thanks everyone for their help

But I seem to have a problem
Johnathen snr 1781 appears to be the head (Father) of
Henry Emma and Ann, mother Sarah
Mary Orchard should be stepdaughter
Johnathen jnr 1815 son of deceased wife

Johnathen snr dies 1852

1861 Census Johnathen jnr appears to step up to the mark and
There is another daughter Elizabeth born 2 years after Johnathen snr death
Ellen seems to just make it ,born 1852 just after dad dies

So what is Johnathan jnr claming to be in the 1861 Census ,Father to them all

Hi Bushy
I may have missed something but I cannot see your problem

1851 Head is Jonathan 35, wife Sarah 36, and children Mary, Henry, Emma, and Ann. Living with them is Jonathan 70 Wid Lodger (no relationship given, but presumed father of head - see 1841).
Mary is the only one I see as a problem as so far I cannot trace her in 1841 to confirn her mothers name. The thought is she was Sarah's child before Sarah married Jonathan

1841 Jonathan 60, Jonathan 20, James 25, If Jonathan is single here, he must have married shortly after this but so far not found.

1861 Jonathan 42 head Sarah 45 wife and children Henry 18, Emma 15, Ann 12, Ellen 9 and Elizabeth 6

Thank Dave
How could I be so stupid to get it so wrong?
Suppose I was looking for a good scandal in the family
70-year-old dad marries 35-year-old wife and son take over the conjicals after daddy dies, Makes for a good story
