Osier-Trimmer

The occupation of my great-grandfather was given as "Osier-Trimmer", when his name was listed on the marriage-certificate of my grandfather and grandmother.
What is an Osier-Trimmer, where would they have worked within the UK, ie which counties/towns etc, and finally what period of time was this an occupation?

Any help would be appreciated.
