Perhaps Mary had died by then. The Ad... is his sister Adela. She never married. I wonder what happened to her, as she died in England in 1913, while the rest of Osmond and family emigrated to South Africa.

In 1901 Adela is living in Lyme Regis living on own means. Theres a Emma L Lee age 32 single visitor born London and 3 servants.
