I'm trying to find the birth place of a Ambrose Payne born 11 Apr 1850 and his wife Sophia Botten born 17 Nov. 1852, also missing is their place of marriage 13 Dec. 1881, somewhere in South Australia.
Any other info would also be helpful such as ancesters etc.

OK, so far we have lavinia's father as Captain John Bray and a possible sister to Lavinia Anne ?
John has plenty of history but I have found no dates or wife yet and no siblings for Lavinia yet.
Joshua Payne's father was a George Payne of Elm Grove, Peckem. No dates or wife and no siblings to Joshua yet. Also Joshua is said to be the second son.

Capt John Bray is a miner ?

I can't see another Lavinia the right age elsewhere in 1841.

If that is the right family in 1841 then if Elizabeth was not born in Cornwall I can't see her in Cornwall in 1851 again listed as not born Cornwall.

Can't find a baptism for Ambrose.
