Neither of those mmn has helped as neither appears as a middle name for any descendants found so far.
There is also this one in 1871 but have not found him in 1861.

Age and occupation would seem to rule him out however a son and grandson of the Walter I'm tracing had middle initial H. In no records found so far did Walter born abt 1855 show any middle initial.
Re 1873 marriage: Walter was a bachelor ? (was he a widower?) and Mary a spinster. Also he was a minor and she was full age.
