Hello,

Yes, :D it's about 50/50 Nesbit/Nisbet in given and middle names of descendants.

Peter ANDERSON & Jean NISBET - Two IGI extracted records:
Marriage: Dec 1823 New Kilpatrick, Dunbarton, Scotland
------- 14 Dec 1823 Crieff, Perth, Scotland

John b. 1824 Crieff
Peter b. 1826 Crieff
Janet b. 1829 Crieff
?
Jean b. 1837 Crieff
?
James b. abt 1840 ?

Please see if you can find the family in 1841. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thanks for looking.

The four children I listed who were born before James all have extracted IGI entries. I can't see an entry for James but his death reg is clear:

Death # 1905/C03491 Anderson James Peter Anderson Jean Nesbit

Toowong Cemetery Monumental Inscriptions
Name: James Anderson
Title:
Birth Date:
Death Date: 6 Sep 1905
Age: 65 years
Comments: Husband of Mary ANDERSON
Portion: 13

Age at death possibly a bit out for James. He didn't marry until 1870 and his spouse was born about 1849 so it's possible he was born after 1841.

Both his parents lived beyond 1861 census:

8-twin Jean or Jane NISBET (20 Aug 1791- 21 Dec 1869)
. . . . x 14 Dec 1823 Peter ANDERSON (abt Oct 1791- 31 May 1862) (son of John Anderson and Janet ****)

Regards,

Dave

Hello dave,

Seems the family can't be found in 1841. From one source Peter and Jean are said to have died after 1861.

Please see if you can find them in 1851 and 1861. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much.

Curious how only some of the children have extracted records in IGI. Neither William nor James are included. I could possibly understand James not being there if he was the youngest but William's birth falls between two which are listed.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much.

That's my man. :)

1903 QLD Electoral Roll – Brisbane - Clayfield
ANDERSON James, Franz road, ironfounder

James married in 1870 in Brisbane so he was not there in 1871. So that narrows down the search in shipping records.

I'm not following his siblings now so that's it for this topic. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

I give up trying in FreeCEN to find James, William, Christina or Euphemia in the same family in 1841.

Again I can't find Peter & Jane/Jean even allowing for the 'where born' to not be actually listed but only listed as 'outside county'.
Very few Peter ANDERSONs so it's a bit of a puzzle.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

I've been looking at Qld. BMD.

Possible marriage for Euphemia to Charles SHEPHERD and her death has parents as Thomas Beverley & Mary CLARK.

Can't find a corresponding parent match for William or James.

Seems Christina married twice and her death in 1909 has no parents listed.

So I've failed again to prove those four who arrived in 1862 were siblings from a different family.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

NSW BMD is back up and I can't find anything in NSW that helps.

Next step is to view the shipping reels.

Regards,

Dave
