Looking for any information on Alice Maude Richmond Phillips - born on or about July 30, 1894my paternal grandmother. It is believed that she may have been born in Essex or Middlesex.

She had an older sister Lillian. Apparently, they were adopted by a Col. Guy Stanhope Kinnear, New Brunswick,Canada; date unknown

Hello,
Do you think your grandmother was born in the UK? Adoption in the UK wasn't formalised until the mid 1920s so it's unlikey to find any documentation as before this children were just taken on by the adoptive family as they're own. Do you have anymore information about her?

Hi...thanks for answering my post. My father's last name was CHUTE, and I believe his history dates back to Lionel Chute. As far as his mother goes, Alice Maud Richmond Phillips, I really would like to know who her parentage was. I do not know how to get that information. All I have is her birthdate, which was July 30, 1894. Sussex, Essex or Middlesex are possible leads, as to where she may have been born.

I found this bit of info...thought it odd, as to have a person with the exact same name as my grandmother. Perhaps she was born out of wedlock???...as her full name I repeat was "Alice Maud Richmond-Phillips"
