Place in Ireland?

I'm looking for further information on a Florence Gray (later Emmett). She lived mainly in the Portsmouth area.

In the 1881 census her birth is listed as "Vi...llybeys, Ireland"

In the 1911 census her birth is listed as "Killings, Ireland"

Googling the first one comes up with nothing, the second one plenty of results but not what I'm looking for

Does anyone know of this place/town/district?!

Wow Leefer and Gortonboy, you two are good!

Yes, I know about her mother Elizabeth Gray (born Griggs), even have a picture of her!

Killybegs hey, good to know that.

Gortonboy, is that an Irish record, and if so is there any way of getting certificates like GRO for England and Wales?

Full civil registration of Births, Marriages & Deaths started in Ireland in 1864. In addition non-Catholic marriages were registered between 1845 and 1863. An online index to these is available on the Irish Civil Index on familysearch.

You can search the registrations for all Ireland up to 1922, and for Republic of Ireland up to 1958.

Certs are available by post from the GRO - see : http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm The form provided is not designed for historic certs, so includes some details (e.g. R.S.I. number) which are not required for these. In addition to your own information, ensure that the following details are included in your order :

Record Type (e.g. Birth)
Registration District
Year/quarter (*)
Volume No.
Page No.

* earlier years do not include a reference to the quarter

The other details listed on the index (film, image no. etc are LDS internal references, and not required by the GRO)

A research cert, which is a photocopy/scan of the original register, currently costs €4. Certs may also be ordered and collected (up to 5 per day) from the GRO research room in Dublin.
