Please how can i find him???

I have a Thomas Hale born York sept quarter 1914. I do know he was in York at the end of 1938 as he married there but i want to find where he was in 1935/1936 and 1937. They cannot check a electoral register for him unless i have a address. Any suggestions on where else i can look for him would be appriecated.

His marriage cert for the end of 1938 states his occupation as labourer at brickyard. Not much to go by im afraid. On the cert it states his address as 17 Bishophill York. I dont know how long he was there before he married or where he was a couple of years before. they all seem to play hide"n"seek on me for the years i want them.

There might be a small chance that he appeared in the phone books although no promises. Would you like me to have a look on Ancestry?

What was his fathers name and occupation on his wedding cert and who did he marry? Tracing children of him is a good suggestion to get his address but that will be after 1938, yet he may have lived at Bishopshill for a few years before that.

This fellow is my aunts father, so i already have his kids but since they were not raised with him they dont know a great deal and it is them i am trying to help. I have found his parents Harry and Edith Hale in York for the mid to late 1930's and he is not on the electoral register with them. If you have a spare minute and dont mind you could check the directories for me please. Thanks

I had a look but couldn't find any Thomas Hale's in the phone book in York for the years 1935-1940.

The only one that I could come up with was York & Acomb Brickworks.
Not sure if this is any help.
