Is there a section for names people are looking for or have I missed it? I know you can put names of interest on your profile but is there anything else.
My names of interest used to come up at the end of each post I made but they don't any more even though they are on my Profile page.

Hi Emeltee

Not sure why it is not showing for you?

It's not as though you have posted enough times(y):p
I will get familyhistoryuk to sort it....hopefully:)

Not quite sure what you mean.

Desktop shows all signatures, which shows ancestors you inputted, like on your profile.

Mobile doesn’t show them currently, just so it’s tidy, but we can change if required.

What device are you using?

My desk top computer. Eyesight's not good enough and fingers too big for fiddly things like mobile phones!

Basically on the previous site, when I posted, my names of interest would come up at the bottom of the page. They are still listed in my profile but dont seem to appear anymore. An example of what I mean is

which i have just copied from Admin's post #101

Hi Em

I wonder if you mean the area at foot of each post, where the extra info goes. On this site, if you go to 'Your account' and click on 'Signature', you will be in the area you describe above, you can then adjust, delete or add any content and it will appear at the foot of each post.

Hope this is what you mean.

Thanks, Geoff. It doesn't say that is what you have to do. Don't see the point of having it in your profile then having to repeat it again as a signature. Still, i suppose that's progress for you!

In your Profile, you can edit them.

Just look for the below image;

It's always been in your profile and repeated on your signature automatically. The old forum did that, and this one was configured to do the same.

Hope that helps

In the mean time, I'll 'Like' you both. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah....Thank You is better....less like facebook.;):)

Oh, one more thing. Is it possible to increase the size of the Post Thread button, and possibly use a more vivid/obvious colour, like this one, or this.

Hi all - emeltee, juliejtp, p.risboy

The LIKE button is a Generic Term

To THANK someone is to thank that person

In your context as helpers - Yes a Thank you is OK, but if someone posts something funny - you may like it
like wise if you help someone they may ALSO LIKE it - so LIKE is the way to go - That is unless you can convince me (and Facebook and thousands of other sites!) :)

Hopefully this explains it(y)(y):):)

In other words you are saying we can't have a Thank You button but have to follow the herd of the social media sites and just have Like. Social media has an awful lot to answer for. What's wrong with not following the herd and showing that we have manners. Thank you.

Hi
Getting a few problems with the site. Text appears to be clinging to the left side of the page and not printing in the correct position over last day or so. Occasionally it's OK, but happening more regularly now.
Geoff
Edit: Looks worse while writing the post then after posting it is still down the side but smaller.

Hi

It appears to be a 'google' issue. I cleared browsing history etc a couple of days ago. Just rechecked in case there was an error and noticed that 'Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed' was off. Switching it on helps with most of the other forums but the 'private' and 'general chat' forums are still the same. That said it all works properly on 'Edge'. I do prefer Chrome, however.

I would add, this is written using 'Edge'.

Many thanks
Geoff
