Hello,

Assisted immigrants:

POGSON William 40 Alfred 1860 Sydney and family Reel 2139, [4/4796]
POGSON Nancy 34 Alfred 1860 Sydney and family Reel 2139, [4/4796]
POGSON Henry 10 Alfred 1860 Sydney and family Reel 2139, [4/4796]

Possible
Births Dec 1849
POGSON Henry Huddersfield 22 364

I can't see the marriage. Nancy is probably Ann or something else in the register.

I'd like a look up please for the POGSON family in WRY in 1851, possibly around Huddersfield. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

hello dave,

Thank you very much.

It is the right family. William is listed as a 'Fancy weaver' on the shipping record which also just says Yorkshire. Bit curious with Henry being changed to Harriet. Perhaps the enumerator wanted one more female. :D

After looking at the POGSON name I thought it would be in the Huddersfield RD.

I was a bit slow last night and kept thinking it was Nancy/Ann etc that kept me from finding a marriage that was in the correct RD. I didn't think it could have been because of William being Wm.

Regards,

Dave

Yes Steve. :D

Yet one more from the Almondbury sub-district added to my tree. If I get too many more instead of saying my English roots are in Brede, E Sussex, I'm going have to say they are from WRY. What a thought. :2fun:

Well, I don't know if it's the bit of German blood in me or what but 50% call it south of England and 50% call it South African.

I must have a weird accent. :2fun:
