Policemen

Hi, where do I look for info on a policeman ? Dennis Edward Brennan born 1866 was a policeman in Elswick before he got married in 1892. Then a police constable in Newcasle Upon Tyne till 1939. In the 1939 register he is said to be retired from the police force.
I have looked on Ancestry UK, Family Search, but cannot find anything. Looked in the Kew online archives, nothing. I was told to look in the Tyne and Wear archives online, but cannot access their collection. Are others also having trouble accessing this archive?

I don't think you will find any records for him as it will come under privacy laws.

The British Newspaper Archive have an article for a PC Dennis Edward Brennan dated 1896 - Newcastle Evening Chronicle. You will need to register to view the whole article. Credits will be needed, but think the first 3 are free.
