Driving along Hogarth Avenue in London years back i wanted to know who he was...Hogarths House is still standing and its to my dismay i havnt yet visited.
His paintings of London to him were nothing more than his view,,,satire and humour of the people in those times..to me its a photograph of old London...his images of the rich and poor show me how it was in those days,of course for every Hogarth there is another painter whos work show us glimpses of the past...but for me Gin Lane and Rakes Progress are treasures.
Yes Hogarth is one of my heroes, and driving aong the road named after him today made me more determined to see ware he was living while doing his work......regards as always..Lee.
