Hello crankypants,

Vessel 'Susan' arrived 1 Feb 1839 from Londonderry no bv

There are three vessels named 'Susan' and two arrived about a week apart. The one from Londonderry didn't have the birth of a male POWELL. The records of the two are mixed together on the films. I've not viewed the reels but I've been told it's very difficult sorting out which passengers were on which vessel and therefore their origin.

It's also odd that records exist for all siblings born before W H in Co Limerick but no record of his birth or baptism. Since it seems the family embarked from Plymouth perhaps he was born in England. But if the date is correct then they left Ireland two years before departure. ???

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. That's one of the 7 children. Leopold died in St Vincent's Hospital. I tried the ESMP site but it was down.

Hello crankypants,

Thanks. At least we are lucky 90% of the POWELLs have at least one middle name. ;)

Norman must be Percy's brother. Yes. Norman married Lena in 1904 so who is Frances. ???

Not an error like this one and not as Francis either:

4259/1871 WOTTEN PERCY EDWIN FRANCES REDFERN

The Sydney Morning Herald - Monday 13 April 1868 p.1
MARRIAGES
On Saturday, March 26, at Holy Trinity Church, by the Rev. R. Rogers, EDWIN WOOTTEN, to FRANCES ELIZA, youngest daughter of the late E. T. Y. M'DONALD, Esq.

EDIT: or should that be IDIOT: Must be the mother :D

Death # 2482/1905 WOOTTEN FRANCES E EDWARD T Y W AGNES S PADDINGTON

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thanks. I don't have a Christina so probably not the right carpenter. Why did you bold Underwood street?

Dave
