Hello crankypants,

Thanks for looking. I wonder but this would be very late in life:

15682/1949 PRIDE WILLIAM MINCHAL KENNETH SPARK PHYLLIS SYDNEY

I notice a Phyllis with no middle name in E/R vanishes due to marriage.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thanks for sorting that. ;)

I know the earth is not flat but quite a few people seem to drop off it nevertheless. :2fun: Perhaps Phyllis and Keith joined Fred in a parallel universe.

Dave

Hello crankypants,

There is a problem or two or three with Patrick Joseph / Patrick J / James Patrick. :D

Death does not match birth in Cootamundra or enlistment details where mother = Kate:

Enlisted Cootamundra, NSW - S/N 1782 13/7th L Horse - NOK mother Powell Kate - Served in N Africa - Returned to Australia per 'Karoola' 28 May 1918 - Discharged 17 Jul 1918

7230/1937 POWELL JAMES PATRICK GEORGE CATHERINE COOTAMUNDRA

Dave

Hello crankypants,

The service record has his name as Patrick Joseph a railway porter and his mother as Kate living at O'Donnell street Cootamundra in 1915.

Curious. I can't see another POWELL in Cootamundra who would fit. But since he married in 1909 the NOK is not his spouse Mary. ??? ???

Birth, marriage, enlistment and death all in Cootamundra but under different names. :D Looks as though he changed his name and age by about 2 years younger.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

1913 N.S.W Electoral Roll - PADDINGTON-OXFORD–STREET POLLING-PLACE
3889 POWELL Catherine, 36 Gipps-street, domestic duties
3892 POWELL George Henry, 36 Gipps-street, plumber
They married in Sydney so now I'm wondering since there appears to be TWO George & Catherine if I have linked the four children all born in Cootamundra to the right couple. :D

EDIT: Looking at the births in NSW BMD I notice that there are only the 4 in Cootamundra, 2 BEFORE the 1887 marriage and father = George with no middle name. Also, looking at the newspaper notices for my George Henry and Catherine there is no mention of children.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. A descendant gave me this: Jane died on 23 Feb 1955 in 100 Spit Road, Mosman. She was buried on 25 Feb 1955 in South Head Cemetery. [According to death certificate] but no sign of a record of her burial there. Who else lived at that address in Mosman? :2fun: How good is my memory? What did I have for lunch 90 minutes ago?

Hello crankypants,

No sorry. The names connected by marriage to SILVA are SHEEHY, HALL(S), MORIS-FONTES, MALAFANT, McMURRAY & WICKENS.

It's not 100 Spit road but close - a daughter:

1936 N.S.W Electoral Roll – Warringah - Mosman
McMURRAY Pearl Marie Dorothy, 93 Spit road, home duties
McMURRAY Samual John, 93 Spit road, master mariner

I don't have them after 1936. ;)

Dave

Hello crankypants,

I presume Jane was living with the McMURRAYs in 93 Spit road in 1943. She had moved by 1949 and somehow died at 100 Spit road in 1955. I wonder if there is more than one error on her death certificate.

I don't have McNULTY in my tree although the name seems familiar. I wonder who is at 100 Spit road in 1954.

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thanks. I don't have a copy of Jane's death certificate so I can't verify it says 100 Spit road. I presume Jane was still living with her daughter Pearl in 1954 but not in E/R. Damn A......y :2fun: The way it lists the names in the E/R Index really annoys me.

Regards,

Dave
