I have been given quiet a few photos of my dad which were taken back in the 1950's. Im going to scan them onto the computer and then onto a disc for each of his grandkids to have a copy. I would like the original photos to survive so what is the best way to preserve them please.

a search on the web gives this
Store old photographs at constant temperatures below 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep the humidity levels in photo storage areas between 15% and 65%. Avoid storing old photographs in attics, basements, or garages where temperature and humidity tend to fluctuate. This can lead to mold, chemical decay, or brittleness.

Not to sure about the acid free Albums as the fixer used in their development is mildly acidic.
