Thanks to Julie I now have a copy of the above marriage. It does not say Thomas is deceased but then it doesn't always.

Cecilia's father should be Thomas, a hatter, but I have no idea yet if he died before 1841 or not.

The occupation 'independent' in the 1841 census was a best guess (not mine - I've not seen the image) so it may be something else. That's why I added the '?' after it.

Later census have married Cecilia born Tottenham.

I can only find one tree and it has no parents for Cecilia and no death and the wrong death for William F.

That's a bit of a surprise. So 'all born Middlesex' in 1841 was not quite right.

So Ceclila is not with mother and sister in 1851.

Yeah, Peter's find in post #3 is interesting, Sophia b. Bristol is curious though, I found the same one where she was 42y, but it had been altered to 14y.
