Yes , I have used a professional researcher many years ago for my Welsh history. I used a very nice lady from the National Library of Wales who was most helpful. Another time I used one again for Wales. It saved me the time and cost of travelling,also the cost of staying somewhere. I cannot tell you the cost these days.
In the back of the Family Tree magazine there is a list of them. Personal recommendation is preferable but at least you can ring or email them for charges and time etc. Sometimes it is pot luck, but anyone with AGRA qualifications should be reliable.
