I have been researching information re my above-mentioned great uncle killed I think during the last battle at Passchendaele Ridge in 1918 during WW1. He was a member of the Gloucester Regiment, unfortunately there were two Frank Majors in this regiment (which must have played merry hell with mail deliveries), and he joined the earliest start of the R.F.C. Frank was born at Coombe Hill, Leigh which is near Tewksbury.
I'm unable to establish his regiment at this point as I understand most of these records, stored at St Catherines House, were lost by a bomb hit and fire during WW2
I would be very grateful for any assistance mambers may have in this matter. An Australian citizen now would you please email me at shipd@westnet.com.au
