Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. The 1918 one is a closer fit to age at death and it has the correct middle initial but I'm not sure given her age on the shipping records pointing to 1921.

----------
William Graham LEDLIE b. 1898 d. 1981

married 1924

Ada Margaret RAMSAY b. 1902 d. 1990

---------
Annie Elizabeth LEDLIE b. 1904 d. ?

E/R Kennedy

Addition: I have a ref to her a 'Mrs Porter YOUNG'

Please see what you can find.

Thanks.

Hello crankypants,

I can't find anything so far on a 'Porter YOUNG' or a marriage. Perhaps 'Porter' is his middle name.

It's JOHN Porter YOUNG :)

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. I got the 'John' from the Ledlie family site. It has no marriage date and no death dates for either of them. That's a bit curious given that there are dates for others in the tree who died bwtween 1964 and 2007. It adds 'no issue'.

The LEDLIE family are from Co Armagh:

Mullaghglass (from the Irish: an Mullach Glas meaning "the green hilltop") is a small village in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 135 people. It lies within the Newry and Mourne District Council area.

Dave

Hello crankypants,

This is a small diversion, and an interesting one involving Rev Dr J D Lang.

John Dunmore Lang had a finger in most pies in colonial New South Wales

Vessel 'Minerva' arrived in Sydney in Jan 1838 and was placed in quarantine.

A 'Google' search will find this one:

[PDF]
THE SHIP MINERVA IN QUARANTINE, 1838 By Shelagh Champion, B.A. ...
File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - Quick View

There is also this one

www.environment.nsw.gov.au/resources/.../nthhdqstCmpSection04.pdf

In 1837 Samuel Jackson, London manager of the Union Bank of Australia, and friend of Gossner, brought them to the attention of Rev. J. D. Lang who was seeking recruits for a Presbyterian-sponsored mission to the Aboriginals at Moreton Bay. The party consisted of five married artisans, Ambrosius Theophilus Wilhelm Hartenstein (1811-1861), Johann Gottfried Haussmann (1811-1901), Johann Peter Niqué (1811-1903), Franz Joseph August Rodé (1811-1903), Johann Leopold Zillmann (1813-1892), and four single artisans, August Albrecht (b.1816), Ludwig Dögé, Friedrich Theodore Franz (1814-1891) and Johann Gottfried Wagner (1809-1893).
Yes, they were on the 'Minerva' together with Christoph EIPPER.

Of the 10 missionaries I have 4 in my tree :D :D
Johann Peter Niqué being one. We have already done ZILLMAN and FRANZ families.

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. No, I think one who married twice. Yes, no sign of a death in Australia for Theophilus. Several of the children were born in Angaston and one researcher has his death there.

I can't find anything to help sort out the Mary ALLANs.

Marriages Jun 1899
Davie Charles Alfred Devonport 5b 736
PENGELLY Celia Devonport 5b 736

Son's marriage
1186/1938 DAVIE ALFRED CHARLES HOLLAND ELSIE EMILY MAY CHATSWOOD

Possible:
Births Mar 1911
Davie Gladys L Plymouth 5b 201

It would fit with 1933 E/R.

Perhaps Amy was born in Victoria. Another possibility is that FORBY is an error.

Please see what you can find.

Thanks.
