Hi all,

So the great event of this weekend is to celebrate the queens diamond jubilee - 60 years on the throne - well done ma'am and congratualtions, kindest regards from the Family History UK Community forums. :)

So what is everyone doing this weekend to celebrate? Any garden parties, Bar-b-q's?

Let us know what you are planning and even get some photos posted of your celebration's

Have a great weekend all,

Regards,
Dave

I will be going to Highworth this tuesday to celebrate a little.
Was good today driving through the villages today...Wing had a lot of bunting and it was great to see the pubs all decked out.

God Save The Queen!:)

A quiet toast tonight just for HM, and a BBQ next weekend June 11th.
We have a long weekend then for Queens Birthday...I'll celebrate both then.
:) Cheers Joan

I was idly thumbing through the latest available census records when I came across

"Victoria Diamond Jubilee" born 1898 living in Gateshead with her parents and siblings. Her parents Thomas and Jessie Jopling had 15 children but only six survived to the census

I wonder if an Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee has been Born today??

I watched most of the Thames flotilla parade, and also enjoyed the Concert last night, with a few minor exceptions.

I have recorded todays events, so I'll catch up with those later.

Shame about Prince Philip being in Hospital though. He must have been in pain for a few days.:(

Really had a great weekend with my family, celebrating the Queens Jubilee. Really made me proud to be British (or should I say Commonwealther!?)

Well done Ma'am on 60 years of service - You are a Diamond.
God save the queen!

From the comfort of my armchair I watched the Pageant on Sunday and the concert on Monday, and both were a sight to see. My late mother was a strong supporter of the Royal Family and made the journey from Wales to London for the Silver Jubilee, and was more than happy to cope with the crowds. Certainly an historic and very rare occasion.
