Many thanks Elaine.

Son William ended up in Australia. The connection to my tree is in two places via two of his children. The name never turned into 'Jakes' in Australia in any of the records I've seen.

Not sure when I was originally given the 1841 census if the '(as transcribed)' was for the name 'Wilson' or for the 'jnr' bit.

1851 Wilson is grandson to James and Elizabeth Harriman, RD Liverpool, Pc 2183, F 493 p29
That is interesting with this:

William JACQUES & Rebecca PYE
3 Mar 1836 Warrington, Lancashire
Batch: M007979

Marriage: 3 Mar 1836 St Elphin, Warrington, Lancashire, England
William Jacques - This Parish
Rebecca Pye - (X), This Parish
Witness: James Pye; Sarah Green, (X)
Married by Banns by: Horace Powys Rector
Register: Marriages 1833 - 1837, Page 172, Entry 514
Source: LDS Film 1562962

PYE may or may not be her maiden name.

Daniel Pye son 19 Ostler Warrington Lancashire

Looks like Rebecca was a widow when she married William Jacques.
In the 1841 image after Wilson Jacques there is John Pye 15, Thomas Pye 12 and Daniel Pye 8.

Daniel Pye was baptised at Sankey Chapel 29 Jan 1832 s.o. George & Rebecca Pye.
George Pye was buried at Sankey Chapel 16 April 1834 aged 33yrs

Can't find a George Pye & Rebecca X marriage

In 1851 James Harriman is 61 and Elizabeth 64 - both born Nottinghamshire (1841 living West Derby, both 50)
i.e. born ~ 1790 and 1787
This makes then quite young to be the parents of Rebecca Jacques, especially James. If Elizabeth had Rebecca before her marriage to James she may have had a different maiden name. The only way to be sure would be to get Wilson's birth certificate which should give his mother's maiden name, as well as her former married name.

Thanks Elaine.

Yes, I looked on FS and Lancs OPC for an earlier marriage for Rebecca and didn't find one. Didn't find any baptisms of help either.

I'll add the certificate to my list.
