I am trying to solve a puzzle and need to know the leave of a relative in 1956, approximately March April of that year, how frequently would his leave have been, he was stationed in Essex at that time.

Thank you

I suppose it would depend on his service duties.
In 1958 - 1959 I worked weekends at a nursery and there was a chap who was doing his National Service and was home almost every weekend, his job was the movement of ammunition from one area of storage to another area, I assume this was to detect deterioration due to storage.
I was amazed at the amount of leave he had as I always assumed the forces to be a 24/7 type of job.

Thank You, That answers a lot of Questions as to who my father was, From what you say it looks as though the person who I was told he was in fact was not but was the person I was told was my half brother as no way could someone know they were pregnant within a week!!
