Regimental information

I am wanting information on the 404 Highland Field Regiment. A reference is made to it on the back of a photograph that I have but despite an internet search I have not been able to find it. Can anyone help me

Unfortunately I don't have the original but the relative who sent the photo to me said this was printed on the back
"450513 Sapper Jones, 404 Highland Field RE. If lost or wounded, please return this photo to Mr Arthur Jones, 1 Ruby Street, Booth (?) Cardiff, S Wales".
It could have been World War I but I suspect it might have been before because of the style of the uniform

I noticed your message of 5 years ago concerning the 404th Highlan Company and the soldiers photo labelled Sapper Jones 450513. To my amazement, this is my grandfather and the Arthur Jones of 1 Ruby Street Splott Cardiff was my great grandfather. If you want to exchange info then please send me a message.
