Rennie family

Leslie, Fife
Have had some success with paternal line, now want to look at maternal line.

My grandfather was Hugh Rennie who died before I was born, he was invalided out of black watch 14-18 war and died in Guardbridge fife approx 1920, I believe he came from Arbroath area, he married my gran cecelia Mitchell, any help would be gratefully received, i think this is a wonderfull site where everyone is so helpfull

thanks ianD

:D Hello,i am not sure if this will help in any way ,but
i live in australia,do you know if any of your rellies emigrated to australia..
In Ayr north queensland ,small sugar cane growing town ,there are quite a few families named Rennie,,,maybe if you linked some of these up some way things could fall into place,i know there was a Reg and a Graham Rennie...they have lived in Ayr for many years ..old identies so to speak they had a paint store and hardware..Some times going backwards put a new link into place ..yes i guess that sounds quite silly but it has worked for me guys ..he he he .i'll see what i can find out for you as i have rellies living there ..they might find something you could use ..cheers Lynne.
