Of strange things going on in an old house in the Northern area of England.
Apparently blood curdling screams have been heard coming from within and broad northern accents heard whispering also.
When police arrived a couple of spooky looking people in medieval dress invited them in for a cuppa......blow this for a game of soldiers said one his face ashen with fear...let them get on with it!
They left pronto and as they left more blood curdling screams mixed with the odd Anglo Saxon expletive could be heard from the ancient old house.

Good luck with your mock Battle of Marston Moor this weekend Duckweed in Bishops House....next time though let the police know when you are rehearsing:biggrin:

I did once write a short story about the Green Lady a ghost who frequented the Limes old home where i used to live.

She wasn't happy though and popped back one evening to tell me not ever to tell it again.......as it was lies, all lies.

Thing is its the copyright Gibbo.....Duckweed can command high figures for pictures.

I just hope the fellas with the Longbows are very carefull where they point em.
Old facts seem to indicate they didn't really cause many deaths during battle but had many a persons eye out.

Cromwell got very close to making sure we never had Royalty again and is a very interesting person from Englands past....much mallined in his day he stands fairly proudly with others in Englands history these days.

Nice one Edward, with the complete hash(in my opinion)of the centre of Basingstoke people forget about the history of the town....i deliver to Old Basing and Basingstoke reminds me of Milton Keynes in the sense of a modern centre but with lots of history before hand.
Knew of the house but not the siege.

Hi,

Yes the centre of Basingstoke is a bit of a shame the modern shopping centre looks like any other shopping centre and has no character at all. It is an improvement over the 1960 shopping centre which was not only characterless but also an awful brutalist concrete monstrosity. Where the car parking was more important than the shopping environment.
