Mrs. Louisa Margaret Bland, who died at the advanced age of 85 years, lived in her Wyalong home for the past 50 years. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William McFadzean, she was born at Portland, Victoria. When she was a girl the family went to Hay, and later moved to Lake Cargelligo. In 1879 her marriage to the late Mr. William Bland, of Lake Cargelligo, took place 1879. Leaving Lake Cargelligo in 1896, the Bland family went to Wyalong to live. Mr. Bland died 16 years ago. Deceased leaves a family of six sons and two daughters. They are Charles (Rose Bay, formerly of Narandera), Norman (Temora), George (Wyalong), Archibald (Laurieton, North Coast, well known in Narandera), Neil (Lockhart), Stephen (Wyalong), Belle (Mrs. Locke, of Cabramatta), Rhoda (Mrs Sutherland, of Strathfield). She also leaves 41 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. The funeral was largely attended. The service was conducted by the Rev. G. H. Carr, and the interment was in the Methodist portion of the Wyalong cemetery.

Vic Police Gazette 1865 – Charles Bland alias Dan is charged with deserting his family at Scarsdale on 9th instant, he is an Englishman, a sawyer, aged 41 about 5 ft 8 inches, high black hair mixed with grey, small brown whiskers, no moustache, sallow complexion, dark eyes, flat nose, scar on forehead from timber cuts and left little finger wanting. Wears brown cloth coat, moleskin trousers and drab felt hat. He is supposed to be at Bullarook or Gordon’s at some saw-mill. 20th Dec 1865
