Re: Richard ASKHAM & Mary THOMPSON

I can find no tree for Richard ASKHAM/ASKAM and no marriage or baptism for his father Richard.

That line looks dead.

THOMPSON is probably easier.

Re: Richard ASKHAM & Mary THOMPSON

Name: Richard Askham
Event Type: Census
Event Date: 1841
Gender: Male
Age: 70
Birthplace: Yorkshire
Schedule Type: Household
Registration District: Pontefract
Sub-District: Ackworth
Parish: Kirby, South
County: Yorkshire

That does not fit so looks as though Richard's father died before 1841.

I can't find a baptism or a marriage. No burial 1800-1841 on FS.

Re: Richard ASKHAM & Mary THOMPSON

It's around Wakefield I think...
East of Wakefield.

Oh. Rothwell is well east of Lockwood too.

Hemsworth well east of Lockwood also.

We are stuck with ASKHAM so I've moved to THOMPSON.

Re: Richard ASKHAM & Mary THOMPSON

I wouldn't discount it though, Dave... :D
Yes, I have had second thoughts now I've refreshed my memory where Lockwood is in WRY.

Oh, one other thing. It's sometimes HASKHAM.

This seems the last child:

Thomas Askam
christening: 4 October 1809 HEMSWORTH NEAR WAKEFIELD,YORK,ENGLAND
parents: Richard Askam

same distance from Wakefield as Pontefract.

Re: Richard ASKHAM & Mary THOMPSON

Looks as though Richard baptised 1800 is the first but I can't see a marriage a bit before that if Hannah was born 1781.

Can't be the same Hannah if age 60 is correct:

Richard Askham
marriage: 26 December 1786 Darton,York,England
spouse: Hannah Coldwell

Re: Richard ASKHAM & Mary THOMPSON

Yes, it seems we have a Richard & Hannah and a Richard D & Ann.

Has to be two of them:

Thomas Askam
christening: 4 July 1809 Hemsworth, York, England
parents: Richard Askam

Eliza Askam
christening: 30 July 1809 PONTEFRACT,YORK,ENGLAND
parents: Richard Dickon Askam, Ann

The marriage for Richard D & Ann fits.

The 1786 marriage in Darton to Hannah is too early so do we have 3x Richard? Looks like it:

George Askham
christening: 5 January 1788 DARTON,YORK,ENGLAND
parents: Richard Askham

So can't find the marriage just before 1800 for the Richard & Hannah with children baptised at Hemsworth.
