Richard Henry Foord born 4th june 1908 in Norwood

Hello I was wondering if you could help me. My partner believes that her 2and great uncle served in WW2. He was born on the 4th june 1908 in Norwood. His father Robert Dryden Foord also served but In WW1 but in the Royal Garrison Artillery. Richard lived in Chertsey in Surrey around 1939. Any help from anybody would be greatly appreciated.
