Kyabram Free Press & Rodney & Deakin Shire Advocate Tues 19 June 1917

MRS. R. TREVASKIS. SEN.
At the age of 73 years, after a residence of 44 years in the Kyabram district, Mrs Trevaskis, relict of the late Richard Trevaskis, passed away on her birthday, at her residence, Union-street, on Saturday night. For about 12 months she had been in ill-health, and for a month before her demise she was confined to her room. Deceased was well-known in the district where she had lived so long, and very highly respected. She had many friends, particularly among the elder residents, and the news of her death has caused feelings of great regret among them. The late Mrs Trevaskis was born in England, and came to Australia with her parents in 1849.
After living some time in Adelaide, her parents went to Bendigo in 1852. It is worthy of note that her future husband, then a boy of 12, made the journey with his parents at the same time, both families travelling in bullock drays.

In 1862 she and the late Mr Trevaskis were married at Bald Hills, Kilmore. They afterwards went to Wahriug, and in 1873 settled on a farm at Taripta. Eight years ago they retired from active farming pursuits, and took up their residence in Kyabram. Three years later Mr Trevaskis died at the age of 72.

The surviving members of the family are Messrs Enos (N.S.W.), Richard Henry (Kyabram), James Lloyd (Queensland), Mark (Gippsland), William John (Kialla), and Edar Miles (Kyabram); Mrs Meuzies (N.S.W.) and Mrs Boast (Caulfield). The funeral at Kyabram cemetery yesterday was well attended. Messrs G. H. Bishop and Co. had charge of the mortuary arrangements, and Rev. J. Rogers lead the burial service.
