Mr. Richard Slee, at one time a prominent Sydney manufacturer, and the first Mayor of Rookwood, whose death at the age of 71 years took place a few days ago, at his late residence, Orange Grove, Regent's Park, Rookwood, was a native of Devonshire, England. After serving an apprenticeship of five years to the iron trade, he came to Australia in the sailing vessel Sir Bevis, landing in Sydney in September, 1852, etc

Hi Dave
I have quite a bit on this couple, having handwritten notes out of a family history book years ago - I will locate them for you (currently doing a course till the 10th October so will be after that)
Also as a side note her Mary Ann's Sister Emma is my Great Great Grandmother. She immigrated to Australia with her adult children.
Do you have an email I can send a copy of the notes to?

Also Richard and Mary Ann are buried at Rookwood Cemetery - He was the Mayor of Rookwood. I have been to their grave, sadly it is in need of repair, they are unaware of his importance but I have a person to contact so this should be good to be fixed and be looked after more.
